SDP Derby 31 Oct 2026
SDP hosted 2 events across the day as part of the Croydon Pickleball Tour. 28 players participated in the 3.0+ tournament and a further 20 players across the 3.5+ event.
A great day of competition, spectacular rallies, close games but most importantly a whole lot of fun.
Well done to everyone who participated, and a special shout out to all the winners:
From the 3.0+ Tournament (left to right): Warwick Lowe (Gold); Terence Cheng (Silver); Mike Gibson (Bronze); Joan Mager (4th place)
From the 3.5+ Tournament (left to right): Marco Fung (Gold); Philip Mills (Silver); Sam Liu (Bronze); Richard Park (4th place)
These events are a long time in the planning, and involve a lot of effort on the part of a small number of people at the club. Our thanks go to Wendy, Mark and Victoria for their tireless efforts which resulted in a truly enjoyable day for all involved.
Many of the participants were members of the club which was gratifying to see. The reward for the effort is seeing so many people having competitive games as well as interacting with friends and strangers alike over the course of 8 hours.
So many people expressed their thanks on the day and many of our members look the time to message later which is much appreciated. A sample of these messages are below:
